Agricultural production in Ukraine will decline in 2020 - forecast - 11.03.2020
In 2020, agricultural production in Ukraine will decrease by 3.6% compared to the previous year.

This was stated by the Director of the National Scientific Center "Institute of Agricultural Economics", academician of the NAAS Yuri Lupenko, the press service.

According to him, such a decrease will occur due to a 5.1% decrease in crop production - mainly cereals (-10%). It is also expected to reduce the production of sunflower seeds, rapeseed and vegetables.

According to the report, livestock production volumes, according to scientists of the Institute of Agricultural Economics, will remain at almost the level of 2019 (+ 0.6%). It is specified that such an increase will be achieved due to an increase in poultry production, while the decline in production will continue in other main products of the livestock industry.

"Slowing downward dynamics is possible, first of all, by minimizing the decrease in production of the main crops - wheat, corn, sunflower, potatoes, vegetables, as well as milk and pig meat," added Yuri Lupenko.

Recall that Ukraine exported oilseeds in 2019 by $ 2.5 billion, which is 32% more than in 2018.
