To date, the dynamics of Ukrainian wheat exports varied within the limits set by the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry for Development of Economy and the industry associations that represent nearly 99% of Ukrainian wheat exporters and processors. As of April 6, 2020, Ukraine already exported 17.9 mln tonnes of wheat, declared the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture.
According to the Appendix to the Memorandum signed on March 30 between the Ministry and the associations, representing 99% of wheat exporters and processors, the parties decided to set the maximum limit of wheat exports in the current marketing season at 20.2 mln tonnes, in order to stabilize the market. Thus, in the period of April-June of 2020 Ukraine can export nearly 2.3 mln tonnes of the grain, the press-service of the Ministry noted.
Also, it was reported that in April 2020, the shipment rates of Ukrainian wheat on foreign markets somewhat slowed. In the reporting month, the average daily shipments of wheat abroad totaled 14 thsd tonnes, while in March 2020 the figures totaled 44 thsd tonnes.
