Ukrainian farmers will sow about 800 thousand ha of winter crops - 07.03.2020
The area of ​​winter crops that will be sown in Ukraine this year may amount to 800 thousand ha.
 
This was told by Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky, writes Reuters.
 
“Thanks to the warm winter, most crops are in good and satisfactory condition, and the area that is likely to be re-sown is about 800 thousand ha, 700 thousand ha of which is sown with wheat,” said Taras Vysotsky.
 
He added that wheat harvest in 2020 could drop to about 23 million tons.
 
According to the publication, Ukraine, which has already exported about 40 million tons of grain since the beginning of 2019/20 MY, can export a record 52-55 million tons of grain this season. At the same time, due to a decrease in the harvest, deliveries in the next season may be reduced to 40-45 million tons.
 
Recall that Ukraine can collect 65-70 million tons of grain and leguminous plants in 2020.
