Transportation of Ukrainian grain to Hungary temporary stopped - 23.12.2022

Ukrainian state-owned railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia implemented a convention for the transportation of grain cargoes to Hungary via the Batiovo station, Rail.insider reports.

"The ban will enter into force on December 24 and will remain in effect "until canceled." The convention applies to all types of wagons for all recipients", – the message says.

The convention is due to the difficult situation at the Batiovo-Epereshki crossing point. Currently, 4,600 wagons are moving here, more than half of which are loaded with grain.

"This is the most problematic crossing point for grain traders today", – deputy commercial director of Ukrzaliznytsia Valery Tkachev said, adding that the waiting time for wagons at the border here is almost 20 days.

The difficult situation with the queue is also observed at the crossing point Chop - Cierna nad Tisou (Slovakia). The convention for this direction was introduced on December 19.
