The USDA raised their forecast of Ukrainian wheat exports in 2022/23 MY by 1 mln tonnes in their last update on August 12. The prospects of shipment of wheat from Ukraine in the current season are seen at 11 MMT.
Ukraine exported 18.8 mln tonnes of wheat in 2021/22 MY, after full-scale Russia’s invasion sharply cut country’s trade potential. However, the result of the previous season exceeded 16.85 mln tonnes supplied to the foreign markets in 2020/21 MY, as record 2021 crop allowed Ukraine to ship impressive volumes in July-February 2021/22 MY.
The USDA sees Ukraine’s wheat crop at 19.5 mln tonnes in 2022/23 MY, down from 33 mln tonnes in the preceding season.
